Introduction
Nordic Minority Group (NMG) is a multi-racial, non Profit, non-government Organisation. We the concerned members of the minorities in the Nordic community resolved to form an organisation for the mobilisation and coordination of minorities with a view to addressing and finding practical solutions to the prevailing issues in our host communities. Finding solutions that take into account our perspectives and contributions.

  • A lot of assistance in terms of grants, loans, debt relief and technology transfer have been met by the tax payers from the Nordic Countries to support economic reforms with a view to making developing Countries viable and self reliant;
  • This financial assistance which is meant to create better standards of living, equal opportunities, equal rights, to the needy people in the developing Countries has not ultimately helped the needy;
  • Lack of good governance has been a major hindrance to sustainable socio-economic progress and has caused; poor education standards, poverty, civil strife, military conflicts and escalated HIV-AIDS, domestic violence, child trafficking and gender imbalance;
  • The situation continues to produce political and economic refugees whose numbers are growing day by day in the Nordic Countries and now form a group called “The Minorities”;
  • The minorities continue to face serious challenges in migration and integration procedures, racial discrimination and other forms of marginalisation for example, equal job opportunities, and other socio-economic programs.

Twenty years of war in northern Uganda - International Community must act now.

Since 1986 northern Uganda has been trapped in a deadly cycle of violence and suffering. After 20 years the war shows no real signs of abating, and every day it goes on it exacts a greater toll from the women, men, and children affected by the crisis. The time has come for all parties involved to act decisively. The international community must acknowledge the true scale and horror of the situation and act resolutely and without delay, both to guarantee the effective protection of civilians in the region and to secure a just and lasting peace.
